Weighted Neurosensory Kits for Students in Durham Public Schools

This project serves neurodivergent students across Durham public schools, Durham families including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and sensory processing challenges, who lack access to affordable sensory regulation tools. Neurodiverse students find it hard to concentrate, regulate their emotions, and participate in class due to a learning environment that does not accommodate their sensory differences. Having weighted kits will help students focus in classrooms.

Most sensory toys out there are plastic and made by big companies. Nobody really thinks about whether they're safe or good for the environment. We're making textile-based kits by hand using materials that don't have toxins in them.
